Waste Management Overview
The Nutrition/Diet industry is a multibillion dollar industry. We are constantly being bombarded with new diets, new fitness equipment etc every day. Who do you believe? Most of the information we receive is for a quick fix to our problem. We live in a society of instant gratification. We want to look better, lose weight and feel good about ourselves in a short period of time with little if any work.

Here’s the problem; we didn’t get out of shape and put on weight overnight, so we can’t take it off overnight. You might go on one of the hundreds of diets that are out there, but that is only a temporary solution to the problem.

Why diets don’t work
Your metabolism (the energy you require to exist on a daily basis) is like a fire burning inside of you. Those with a high metabolism have a large fire burning inside of their body. When a person with a high metabolism eats food, the food is burned up. In other words the calories are consumed up by the fire. It’s like putting logs onto a hot raging fire, the logs burn down to just ash due to the hot flames. When you go on a diet, your metabolism or fire burns lower. Let’s say you starve yourself during the day and eat a bigger meal at dinner time. It’s like putting a large log on a small fire. The log will smolder and not get burned up. This excess log or food is stored as fat. You don’t see it that night, or even the next day. It just slowly starts to accumulate in your body. What’s an extra pound a month, no big deal. In a year you will have added 12 pounds and in five years you are up 60 pounds without even noticing it.

Crank up the fire!
In order to have a bonfire burning in your body you need to increase the amount you exercise, and keep feeding the fire throughout the day with smaller logs or kindling. Eating three meals with snacks mid morning and mid afternoon will help keep your fire burning.
